About

Accommodation, reviewed by the students who live in it

The Common is independent and student-run. We collect anonymous, email-verified reviews of London student accommodation and publish them in one place, so choosing a hall is based on what residents actually experienced rather than a brochure.

Why we exist

Most students pick a hall from photographs, a price and a rough idea of how far it is from campus. Then they live with the repairs, the noise, the wifi and the kitchen for a year. The Common exists to move that knowledge from group chats and word of mouth into something searchable.

How it works
  • Students rate their hall on repairs, cleanliness, safety, value, wifi and social life.
  • Every review is confirmed by an email link before it is published.
  • Reviews are moderated for abuse and personal details, never for being critical.
  • Rankings, Compare and Match Me are all built from those reviews, with the method published.
  • Questions on each hall page are answered by students who lived there.

What we will not do
  • We do not sell rankings, and no provider can pay to change a score.
  • We do not publish names, emails, addresses or contact details with a review.
  • We do not invent ratings, photos or quotes. Empty means empty.
  • We do not pass student contact details to accommodation providers.
Who runs it
